Explain Reflection and Refraction? Also, state difference between them

reflection

Do you ever wonder how do you see your image in a mirror or how other objects around us are visible to us? The answer to these questions is due to ‘reflection’ which is a phenomenon of light bouncing off an object. In other words, reflection is the change in the direction of the wave that strikes the line separating two different mediums.

reflection

Consider a light incident on a plane surface making an angle θi with the normal of the plane. Then the reflected ray makes an angle of θr with this normal and lies on the same medium as the normal and the incident ray.

When, θi = θr

It becomes the equation of law of reflection, which states that the angle of the incident light ray is equal to the angle made by the reflected light ray, from the normal.
